He is the former executive director of the Edward Teller Education Center, UC Davis/Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and also serves on the board of directors for the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning (CFTL). In 1996, he was named Teacher of the Year by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
