  • SPECTROstar Nano - UV/Vis Absorbance Measurements Redefined

Explore the future of microplate reader technology today with the new SPECTROstar Nano. Using an ultrafast absorbance spectrometer, it can capture a full UV-Visible spectrum from 220 nm to 1000 nm in less than 1 sec/well and measure sample volumes down to 2 μL. Experience the freedom of capturing absorbance data for only one wavelength or up to eight distinct wavelengths per assay or even the entire spectrum at 1 nm resolution in order to see the complete picture. Furthermore, the integrated cuvette port allows for rapid, full spectrum analysis of individual samples without the need to preprogram wavelengths.

The SPECTROstar Nano is delivered with a new version of BMG LABTECH's established Reader Control Software and comprehensive Data Analysis Software, MARS. With its simple to use 'Quick Run' feature the most common absorbance assays can be executed at the touch of a button due to predefined protocols. This highly intuitive software also provides limitless possibilities for test set up where it is needed. In MARS, a wizard guides the user through the entire data analysing process. Additionally, a template manager can be used for building complex data processing protocols. Improved robotic integration capabilities, digital signature and FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance complete this powerful software package.

The speed of the spectrometer and the easy work-up in the software provide users with unmatched flexibility that can be used to optimize absorbance settings for all experiments including:

260/280 ratio for DNA and RNA purity check
      Protein quantitation (e.g. Lowry, BCA)
Reporter gene assays (e.g. ß-Gal, SEAP)
      Cell proliferation and apoptosis
      ELISA
      Enzyme activity assays
      Microbial growth
      Protein aggregation
      And much more
Instantly capture a full UV/Vis spectrum for low volumes, microplates and cuvettes. All microplate formats from 6- to 1536-wells can be measured and full spectra of individual samples can also be assessed by using the integrated cuvette port. This port accommodates standard, micro and ultra-low volume cuvettes. In addition, low volume samples can be measured using BMG LABTECH's LVis Plate. The LVis Plate is equipped with sixteen low volume (2 μL) measurement positions, a horizontal cuvette placement and various NIST traceable optical density (OD) filters. These filters can be used to perform quality checks in order to ensure correct instrument function, including absorbance intensity and wavelength accuracy, thus improving process reliability in laboratories.

Ultrafast, full spectrum analysis, incubation, kinetic readings, well scanning, automated path length correction, multimode shaking, easy robotic integration, and a gas vent for environmental sensitive samples are only a few of the outstanding features that the SPECTROstar Nano has to offer.

BMG LABTECH is currently offering you the chance to receive one of five free SPECTROstar Nanos. Submit a two to five page research proposal on how your lab would use the new and unique features of the SPECTROstar Nano for your chance to win.
