    Abstract
The “pro-cures” movement is a consumer movement that originated out of restrictive policies impacting human embryonic stem cell research. Much like the AIDS/HIV and breast cancer patient movements that resulted in there being increased public awareness that significantly accelerated treatments of those afflictions, the increasingly empowered pro-cures movement must take aim at producing tangible results, not only defending hESCR, but accelerating the pace of translation to produce effective treatments and cures. In order to accomplish its mission, it would serve the stakeholder communities representing patients, industry and science to work off the same “playbook” and to align their advocacy agenda. What good is curing a mouse of diabetes if it will take 30 years to bring the cure to the human population due to regulatory impasses, lack of reimbursement strategies and improper collaboration between stakeholders? This presentation will describe new areas of collaboration and shared platforms that will deliver on the mandate to deliver cures.
