How to Install a Triple Plate MICROVAP Evaporator Organomation has been manufacturing high-quality laboratory equipment since 1959. All of our instruments require minimal installation before use, which can easily be done on-site. This video will walk you through the steps of installing your triple plate MICROVAP. First, open the instrument box and locate the packing checklist. This can be used to verify that you’ve received all the necessary parts with your order. Your shipment should contain the following items… -- A heating unit -- A nitrogen manifold with two thumb screws -- A flowmeter and bracket -- 2 screws -- A black coil tube -- A T-handle wrench -- 2 collars -- 2 stainless steel rods with springs -- A piece of tubing -- and a manual Carefully check all the items you received for damage which may have occurred in transit. Make sure to keep all packing materials until the instrument has been assembled and tested. Contact Organomation immediately if any damage or discrepancies are found. First, start by placing the heating unit on a stable surface such as a lab bench or fume hood. Use 2 screws to install the flowmeter and bracket on the backside of the unit, with the gauge facing forward. Use the 1/8” wrench to loosen the set screw on one of the rear blocks. Insert a stainless steel rod into the block, and retighten the set screw to hold it in place. Repeat this on the second rear block. Place one offset collar and then one compression spring on each of the rods. Place the instrument manifold over the rods until it sits on the springs. Take the black coil tube and find the end with the filter. Connect this to the lower rear fitting of the flowmeter, and attach the other end of the tube to a suitable gas source. Take the piece of gas tubing and connect one end to the back of the manifold, and the other to the upper fitting on the flowmeter. Your triple plate MICROVAP is officially installed and ready for use. If you are unfamiliar with the use of the MICROVAP system, or you’re working with a new procedure, we recommend doing a trial run of blank samples to determine the best operating conditions.
