Inter-laboratory variability is a large problem for cannabis cultivators and processors nationwide. Testing equipment is expensive and staffing the business with qualified scientists isn’t cheap. The consumer drive for potency products creates market pressure to produce COAs with high potency numbers. Given that it can take a long time for cannabis testing labs to become profitable, some labs find creative ways to produce COAs with higher than normal potency values. This talk will focus on common regulations and standards (International Standards Organization, AOAC, ASTM, etc) and will show how these are really minimum requirements for operation.
