  • Electrophoretic methods, based on the differential migration of ionic analytes under the influence of an electric field, are of utmost importance in the bio industry, as many analytes are ionized or ionizable, e.g. proteins or nucleic acids. Capillary electrophoresis (CE) has become more common over the years due to its advantages compared to the classical slab-gel format: it needs a lower amount of sample, it is compatible for direct coupling with mass spectrometry (MS), and it is well suited for automation and exhibits outstanding separation efficiency. Moreover, CE method for the analysis of proteins was recommended by World Health Organization and officially recognized by European and American Pharmacopoeias. Last year US Pharmacopoeias published a special article №129 about CE for the analysis of recombinant therapeutic proteins. In this webinar you will learn: What analytical tasks exist in modern biopharma industry Which impurities and/or degradation products can be found in the final batch of recombinant protein How capillary isoelectric focusing can help in characterizing different isoforms of recombinant proteins How the prescriptions of the newest US pharmacopoeia article N129 can be realized on Lumex CE system Capel
