The lab uses a combination of routine analysis and high resolution LC-MS (liquid chromatography mass spectrometry) to screen samples for around 500 pesticides in a single test. Dr Adams describes how the laboratory is improving efficiency of screening by using both qualitative and quantitative information to report the correct result and by adopting automation technology.
