Improving the Efficiency of Pesticide Screening: Interview with Dr Stuart Adams, Fera Science Ltd Dr Stuart Adams, a Senior Analytical Chemist at Fera Science Limited, explains how his laboratory analyzes over 100,000 samples per year for pesticides, veterinary medicines, mycotoxins and other contaminants. The lab uses a combination of routine analysis and high resolution LC-MS (liquid chromatography mass spectrometry) to screen samples for around 500 pesticides in a single test. Dr Adams describes how the laboratory is improving efficiency of screening by using both qualitative and quantitative information to report the correct result and by adopting automation technology.
