Harvard Medical School Postdoctoral student Sririam Kosuri explains how the Gel Doc EZ system has changed the way researchers image gels in the George Church lab at Harvard Medical School's Wyss Institute. The Church Laboratory conducts research in areas ranging from the creation of new biosynthetic pathways for biofuel applications to personal genome sequencing and offshoots such as the development of individual stem cell therapy. The speed and simplicity of the Gel Doc EZ system not only provides consistently great images with ease but has changed the way the group uses gel imaging systems, utilizing rapid real-time monitoring rather than just taking a final image. Reducing the time to acquire each gel image from 5–10 minutes to a few seconds really makes a difference in the workloads of scientists running 10–20 gels a day! http://www.bio-rad.com/evportal/destination/commerce/product_detail?catID=L7BL4S15&WT.mc_id=yt-lsd-ww-GelDocEZ-20120912-_vQsnvucrC8"
