Learn how animal physiology researchers at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg use the ChemiDoc MP imaging system to investigate the basic molecular mechanisms of vision. The ChemiDoc MP system enables stain-free imaging with superior sensitivity, exceptional image quality, and outstanding versatility. Graduate student Johanna Mühlhans uses the ChemiDoc MP system to quantitate protein expression during various phases of retinal development in mouse eyes. She likens the multiplexing capabilities of the ChemiDoc MP system, which allows the visualization of multiple proteins simultaneously in a single sample with different fluorophores, to the evolutionary development of color vision in mammalian eyes — a great step forward. Mühlhans relates how this system allows her to display all the proteins of interest in a given experiment in a single lane of a western blot, greatly accelerating her research. Presenter: Johanna Mühlhans, PhD candidate Department of Biology, Animal Physiology Division University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany http://www.bio-rad.com/evportal/destination/commerce/product_detail?catID=LOP6DT15&WT.mc_id=yt-lsd-ww-ChemiDocMP-20120912-q7cXP6E1Mk8"
