Graduate student Shannamar Dewey describes the importance of accurate imaging in multiple steps of her work determining changes in protein degradation in a mouse model of cardiomyopathy: normalization and quantitation of protein levels, immunoassays, and protease activity assays. The speed and convenience of stain-free imaging after a 2.5-min activation allow Dewey to quickly check a protein gel to confirm the quality of the protein separation before proceeding to the transfer step.
