Budding yeast: S. cerevisiae

S. cerevisiae is an excellent reference organism for biomedical research to investigate fundamental cellular processes. Nanolive’s technology allows for a 3D live-cell imaging without any needs for chemical marker or genetic manipulation. Only based on their specific Refractive Index (RI) all the yeast different components can be distinguished and colored thanks to a process called digital staining. Thanks to that, The 3D Cell Explorer, allows to visualize complex biological processes in three dimensions and over time, thus giving unprecedented insights into dynamic cellular processes and physiology.
