  • For more information, visit www.renishaw.com/qontor The inVia Raman microscope is renowned throughout the world for its sensitivity and throughput. The inVia Qontor is the most technologically advanced system yet, with ground-breaking LiveTrackô technology. LiveTrack enables the user to lock focus to the surface or interface of their material. Navigation is simple and convenient. In white light mode, this enables simple navigation to find regions of interest. In Raman mode, LiveTrack ensures focus is tracked whether performing dynamic measurements such as sample heating and cooling, or using one of inViaís chemical image generation techniques. For both micro samples demanding the ultimate precision, and macro samples with gross changes in surface topography, LiveTrack is equally effective. When tracking the focus so accurately, you are able to make sure that you are getting the best spatial resolution possible. Your Raman images will be the highest quality that you can collect. The liveness of LiveTrack, and the broad range of samples that you can apply it to, make it fairly unique. Without LiveTrack, as you drop off the side of your sample, you are out of focus. With LiveTrack, as you go across the interfaces, the focus is tracked perfectly. This can be applied to map data collection to ensure that the Raman data is in focus over the whole topography of the sample. The difference to what you had before is incredible. It will benefit people doing their current work by making it easier and more convenient, and by removing a lot of sample preparation. It will also open up new application areas, because you can look at such gross sample variation in terms of topography, so you can track samples that you weren’t able to before.
