The classic QIAGEN bind-wash-wash-elute protocol for the QIAprep Spin Miniprep Kit involves several centrifugation steps. While guaranteeing excellent flow-through of all the wash buffers and eluates, loading spin columns into the centrifuge also requires extra handling steps. But surprisingly, you can save up to 10 minutes by doing the wash steps on a vacuum device.
