  • Colony picking is an experimental step required in virtually all cloning procedures and performed in a variety of laboratory centers, from screening libraries in academia and genetic engineering in biotech companies to sample control in the food industry. Tecan’s Freedom EVO® workstation combined with Pickolo™, SciRobotics’ colony-picking module, provides you with an easy and reliable colony-picking workflow integrated with your automated upstream and downstream experiments. Equipped with up to eight channels, your Freedom EVO workstation can pick as many as 800 colonies an hour with the option to choose from a variety of different colony selection criteria, target and destination plates, microorganisms and types of agar. You will find that this instrument is intuitive to work with and that Pickolo gives you the ease of a plug ‘n’ play device, while still providing plenty of options to vary your automated workflow as your experiments change with your projects.
